Four amino acid substitutions separate the modified backbone from the parent GRF(1-29) sequence. These changes reduce recognition by dipeptidyl peptidase IV and related proteases, extending the interval before degradation. Development work in this area sought longer-acting GHRH analogs for endocrine investigation. Published descriptions treat the substitution set as a defining property of the core sequence, while the albumin-binding linker is described separately as an optional addition to that same backbone.
CJC-1295 is a synthetic peptide analog of growth hormone-releasing hormone, constructed on the 29-amino-acid fragment designated GRF(1-29). The name began as an internal development code during the 1990s and later spread through research supply catalogs and discussion forums. The molecule does not occur in nature; its sequence is engineered rather than isolated from tissue. Two related compounds are sold under this single label, and they differ by one appended chemical group that strongly influences how long the peptide remains in circulation.
Pharmacokinetic behaviour differs sharply between the two forms. The DAC-bearing peptide shows an extended circulation time measured in days, whereas the version without the complex is cleared within roughly half an hour. This gap shapes how researchers design dosing schedules in animal models. Whether the prolonged presence of the DAC form produces effects meaningfully different from the short-acting variant remains an open question, since comparative human data are scarce.
CJC-1295 is a synthetic peptide designed to mimic growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), the endogenous signal that prompts the pituitary gland to release growth hormone. The compound is a modified fragment of the natural hormone, spanning the first twenty-nine amino acids of GHRH with several substitutions that slow enzymatic breakdown. Two variants circulate in research settings: one carrying a drug affinity complex (DAC) and one without it. The DAC-free form is frequently labelled Mod GRF(1-29) in catalogs and discussion forums.
The peptide binds GHRH receptors on somatotroph cells within the anterior pituitary, triggering a signalling cascade that increases growth hormone secretion. Its improved resistance to dipeptidyl peptidase IV degradation distinguishes it from the parent hormone. In the DAC-bearing version, a maleimide group reacts with a cysteine residue on serum albumin, forming a covalent bond that keeps the peptide in circulation far longer. That albumin attachment is the central design feature separating the two research variants.

== Scheduling == Within the general concept of multiple drug use, several specific meanings of the term must be considered. At one extreme is planned use, where the effects of more than one drug are taken for a desired effect. Another type is when other drugs are used to counteract the negative side effects of a different drug (e.g. depressants are used to counteract anxiety and restlessness from taking stimulants). On the other hand, the use of several substances in an intensive and chaotic way, simultaneously or consecutively, in many cases each drug substituting for another according to availability.
In 2024, the United States surpassed Qatar as the world's largest producer of the gas, having extracted 68 million SCM of helium that year compared to Qatar's 64 million SCM. An estimated 54 billion cubic feet (1.5×109 m3) deposit of helium was found in Tanzania in 2016, and a large-scale helium plant was opened in Ningxia, China in 2020. In the United States, most helium is extracted from the natural gas of the Hugoton and nearby gas fields in Kansas, Oklahoma, and the Panhandle Field in Texas. Much of this gas was once sent by pipeline to the National Helium Reserve, but since 2005, this reserve has been depleted and sold off, and it was expected to be largely depleted by 2021 under the October 2013 Responsible Helium Administration and Stewardship Act (H.R. 527). Despite efforts to sell the remaining reserve in 2021, the remnants of the National Helium Reserve were auctioned off by the Bureau of Land Management over the course of 3 years. It was finally sold to Messer Group on June 27, 2024. The helium fields of the western United States are emerging as an alternate source of helium supply, particularly those of the "Four Corners" region (the states of Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah). Diffusion of crude natural gas through special semipermeable membranes and other barriers is another method to recover and purify helium. In 1996, the U.S. had proven helium reserves in such gas well complexes of about 147 billion standard cubic feet (4.2 billion SCM).
A positive anti-U1 RNP antibody test does not automatically mean that a person has an autoimmune disease. Although these antibodies are most strongly associated with mixed connective tissue, they may also be found in disorders and, in some cases, low levels in healthy individuals. For this reason, laboratory results are interpreted within the context of the paitents' overal clicical presentation. Anti-U1 RNP antibody testing is usually performed after a positive antinuclear antibody (ANA) test as part of an extractable nuclear antigen (ENA) panel. Healthcare providers can view the results together with the patient's symptoms, history, and exam. When high antibody levels are present together with symptoms consistent with mixed connective tissue disease, the findings strongly support that diagnosis. Because antibodies may always remain present for many years, repeat testing is not always necessary unless a healthcare provider is extensively evaluating new symptoms or considering a different diagnosis. Prescribers use test results, and they will always be interpreted by a healthcare professional who can determine whether the findings are consistent with an autoimmune connective tissue disease. When combined with other laboratory tests and clinical findings, anti-U1 RNP antibody testing provides valuable information that helps support research and guide health management.
==== Sexually transmitted infection ==== Methamphetamine use was found to be related to higher frequencies of unprotected sexual intercourse in both HIV-positive and unknown casual partners, an association more pronounced in HIV-positive participants. These findings suggest that methamphetamine use and engagement in unprotected anal intercourse are co-occurring risk behaviors, behaviors that potentially heighten the risk of HIV transmission among gay and bisexual men. Methamphetamine use allows users of both sexes to engage in prolonged sexual activity, which may cause genital sores and abrasions as well as priapism in men. Methamphetamine may also cause sores and abrasions in the mouth via bruxism, increasing the risk of sexually transmitted infection. Besides the sexual transmission of HIV, it may also be transmitted between users who share a common needle. The level of needle sharing among methamphetamine users is similar to that among other drug injection users.
In 2021, the best preserved specimen of a dinosaur's cloacal vent exterior was described for Psittacosaurus, demonstrating lateral swellings similar to crocodylian musk glands used in social displays by both sexes and pigmented regions which could also reflect a signalling function. However, this specimen on its own does not offer enough information to determine whether this dinosaur had sexual signalling functions; it only supports the possibility. Cloacal visual signalling can occur in either males or females in living birds, making it unlikely to be useful to determine sex for extinct dinosaurs.

Larry Hama took over Wolverine's solo series in 1990, and exerted a major influence on how Wolverine was depicted throughout the X-Men family of publications during his run. Hama commented that he "considered the Chris Claremont, Frank Miller, and Barry Windsor-Smith [Wolverine] stories to be canon" and "pretty much ignored everything else." From 1990 to 1992, the series was usually illustrated by Marc Silvestri, who contributed to the character's rising popularity; his work on Wolverine also established him as a star artist in the industry. In issues #48-50 (November 1991-January 1992), Hama delved into Wolverine's mysterious past in the Weapon X program, which was often highly convoluted and unreliable due to the false memories implanted by the program's designers. In 1992, he revisited the Japanese setting and characters of Claremont's and Miller's earlier limited series, ending the story with the poisoning of Mariko Yashida, Logan's lover, and her mercy killing at the hands of Wolverine. During the Fatal Attractions storyline, in X-Men #25 (October 1993), the adamantium in Wolverine's body is ripped out by Magneto, using his magnetic abilities. Writers Fabian Nicieza and Scott Lobdell were inspired by a suggestion of another Marvel writer, Peter David. The story arc reveals that Wolverine has natural bone claws, in contrast to previously established narrative continuity that his claws were entirely bionic. Wolverine himself is confused by this realization, and his healing factor is also greatly weakened by recovery from this extraordinary injury.
=== mRNA quantification === Levels of mRNA can be quantitatively measured by northern blotting, which provides size and sequence information about the mRNA molecules. A sample of RNA is separated on an agarose gel and hybridized to a radioactively labeled RNA probe that is complementary to the target sequence. The radiolabeled RNA is then detected by an autoradiograph. Because the use of radioactive reagents makes the procedure time-consuming and potentially dangerous, alternative labeling and detection methods, such as digoxigenin and biotin chemistries, have been developed. Perceived disadvantages of Northern blotting are that large quantities of RNA are required and that quantification may not be completely accurate, as it involves measuring band strength in an image of a gel. On the other hand, the additional mRNA size information from the Northern blot allows the discrimination of alternately spliced transcripts. Another approach for measuring mRNA abundance is RT-qPCR. In this technique, reverse transcription is followed by quantitative PCR. Reverse transcription first generates a DNA template from the mRNA; this single-stranded template is called cDNA. The cDNA template is then amplified in the quantitative step, during which the fluorescence emitted by labeled hybridization probes or intercalating dyes changes as the DNA amplification process progresses. With a carefully constructed standard curve, qPCR can produce an absolute measurement of the number of copies of original mRNA, typically in units of copies per nanolitre of homogenized tissue or copies per cell.
== Prevention == Since risk factors are not known and vary among individuals with hyperandrogenism, there is no sure method to prevent the condition. Accordingly, more long-term studies are needed to find a cause of the condition before a sufficient method of prevention can be established. Despite this, there are a few things that can help avoid long-term medical issues related to hyperandrogenism and PMOS. Getting checked by a medical professional for hyperandrogenism — especially if one has a family history of the condition, irregular periods, or diabetes — can be beneficial. A healthy weight and diet may reduce the chances, as continued exercise and a healthy diet lead to an improved menstrual cycle, decreased insulin levels, and lowered androgen concentrations.
== Prime ministers == The official counting of prime ministers starts with the first president of the Council of Ministers of the constitutional monarchy. The first column shows the name (and title during the monarchy) of each office holder, with the second and third column showing the start and end of term. A fourth column counts the duration of each term. The next column shows each election won by each Prime Minister, followed by the color and political affiliation of the holder. Then, there's a column listing each constitutional governments headed by each Prime Minister, and finally, a last column showing the head of state during the term of each office holder, between 1834 and 1910, a Monarch, and since 1910, a President. The colors indicate the political affiliation: No party/independent Chartist/Chamorro Septemberist Regenerator Historic Reformist Progressist Liberal Regenerator
=== Biofilms formation and cyclic di-GMP === As in most Gram negative bacteria, P. aeruginosa biofilm formation is regulated by one single molecule: cyclic di-GMP. At low cyclic di-GMP concentration, P. aeruginosa has a free-swimming mode of life. But when cyclic di-GMP levels increase, P. aeruginosa start to establish sessile communities on surfaces. The intracellular concentration of cyclic di-GMP increases within seconds when P. aeruginosa touches a surface (e.g.: a rock, plastic, host tissues...). This activates the production of adhesive pili, that serve as "anchors" to stabilize the attachment of P. aeruginosa on the surface. At later stages, bacteria will start attaching irreversibly by producing a strongly adhesive matrix. At the same time, cyclic di-GMP represses the synthesis of the flagellar machinery, preventing P. aeruginosa from swimming. When suppressed, the biofilms are less adherent and easier to treat. The biofilm matrix of P. aeruginosa is composed of nucleic acids, amino acids, carbohydrates, and various ions. It mechanically and chemically protects P. aeruginosa from aggression by the immune system and some toxic compounds. P. aeruginosa biofilm's matrix is composed of up to three types of sugar polymers (or "exopolysaccharides") named PSL, PEL, and alginate. Which exopolysaccharides are produced varies by strain.

No. It is a laboratory-synthesized analog built on a fragment of the natural hormone. The natural peptide is shorter-lived and lacks the stabilizing substitutions found in the synthetic version.
DAC stands for drug affinity complex, a chemical group that binds the peptide to serum albumin. The binding slows clearance and lengthens the time the molecule stays in plasma compared with the unmodified analog.
Because two distinct molecules are discussed under one informal label. The albumin-binding version clears over several days, while the form without that group clears within roughly half an hour. Mixing results from both creates inconsistent figures.
The synthetic peptide keeps the receptor-binding region of GHRH but carries substitutions that resist enzymatic cleavage. In the DAC version, an added group also anchors the molecule to albumin, extending its presence in the bloodstream.
